A Brother Who Sins

Matthew 18: 15-17

" If your brother sins against you, go tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won over your brother.

If he foes not listen, take one or two others along with you, so that every fact may be established on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church. If he refuses to listen even in the church then treat him as you would  a Gentile or a tax collector"

Reflection:

Passing from the duty of Christian disciples toward those who have strayed from their number, the discourse now turns how they deal with one who sins and yet remains within the community. First there is to be private correction within the people involve if the correction failed further correction before two or three witnesses, if this fails the matter is to be brought before the assembled community now know as the "Church" and if the sinner refuses to attend to the correction of the "Church", he is to be expelled.
